At the village election held May 5, 1936, Emerson E. Erway was returned as mayor of Mead, and his council was composed of Reuben E. Swanson, C. A. Larson, Gordon Soderberg, and Lester Schneider. These offices do not carry any salary with them.

The City Clerk and Treasurer is Alvin L. Jeppson, who is paid $50.00 annually. Carl G. Bruce is the city engineer, water and light commissioner, and is paid $105 per month. The street commissioner, Alfred Dahlberg, is paid for whatever time he works for the city.
