The Mead Swedish Mission Church was organized May 3,1876 and the first board members were:  C. J. Edoff, chairman; Fred Sabelman, secretary; deacons Chris Gustafson, John Sabelman; treasurer, Andrew Nelson; Trustees - John Olson, E. J. Carlson, and A. G. Johnson.  The first regular pastor called was A. N. Smeders.
